Langford, a 6-foot-7, 207-pound small forward from Lee High in Huntsville is the first No. 1 player in the state to sign with the Tigers since Doc Robinson did in 1995.
Langford finished ranked No. 1 on the final 2010 Birmingham News Boys Super Seniors list. He was also named MVP of the annual Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic in March after scoring a game-high 25 points.
He led Lee High to the Class 5A State championship last season, averaging 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Langford had offers from a host of schools, including West Virginia, Louisville, Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss. Barbee recruited the forward when he was at UTEP.
Very nice pick up. Very excited about the future of the basketball program. Thanks for the article Andy.
ReplyDeleteThis is AUSOME!!
ReplyDeleteYep, awesome news.
ReplyDeleteI admit, I was wrong to be so negative about Barbee. Can't wait to see the team in a couple of years!
Great start for Coach Barbee. One or two more like this and we'll be in the thick of the SEC West next year.
ReplyDeleteBasketball isn't like football. A couple of great players and good coaching can turn a team from 15 to 30 wins in a hurry.
I think Sullivan is going to be our PG. That's his future in the pros and he played it in HS.
