Auburn will open season under the lights against Arkansas St.; Iron Bowl will be afternoon kickoff

Auburn's season opener against Arkansas State on Sept. 4 has been scheduled for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff, the school announced today. It will be televised by Fox Sports South.

That means Auburn's first three games will be at night. The Tigers travel to Mississippi State for a Thursday night game Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Their Sept. 18 game at home against Clemson is also a 7 p.m. start. Both games will air on ESPN.

Auburn also announced a 2:30 p.m. ET start time for the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 26. The game will be televised by CBS.

  2. FIFTH!

7 pm kickoff is about what I expected, though I wouldn't have been upset if they had kicked off at noon so I could make it back to ATL for the UNC/LSU game that night. On the good side, that's 7 more hours I'll get to spend visiting friends and campus in The Loveliest Village.
