Any money paid him is a down payment on future production. He gets a pass on a thin team in 2009.

Boulware ought to get a salary CUT or be relieved of duty as the special teams at Auburn were Awful in 2009. Chizik himself took over kick return coaching late in the year.

Trooper and Luper deserve major raises way above 10 pct. Those two dudes are the recruiting nucleus.

Mahlzahn deserves the big buck raise otherwise we lose the buzz his Offense creates on the recruiting trail as well as the offensive production. I'd like to see him spend 3 years on the plains before he goes be a HC. He deserves it, but he isn't so far removed from HS that commentators don't mention it. He needs the space and experience. Might as well get it at Auburn and make a few shekels.Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03801964450227510305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-607864319113145554.post-62275320810584825022010-02-19T13:04:46.842-06:002010-02-19T13:04:46.842-06:00Good move with the pay increases. We know sooner or later many on these guys will move on to bigger things, but the increase it will help keep them at Auburn until their dream opportunity arises. Also, by paying the HC a little less than average for a big time program and paying the coordinators and assistants more, when one of the current staff does move on, it will be easier to recruit top notch talent to fill the position.

Personally, I might not have been quite so generous with Rocker and Bouwlare, but except for those two, I think the coaching staff got more out of the players in all positions than should have been expected. I agree whole heartily with coach Chizik in his assessment last year that the 2090 team did not look anywhere near like the 2003 team. In 2010 we should see the Offence began to click on all cylinders and start seeing an improvement on Defense. One or two more recruiting years like the last one and we’ll have the talent and depth in all positions to match the talent of the coaching staff and thing will really start to get exciting.

Great players plus coaching which bring out the best in them equals great results.JoeinFPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15652791737274857721noreply@blogger.com
