QB Tyrik Rollison not at practice

We media types got to watch a portion of Auburn's first bowl practice this afternoon. Freshman quarterback Tyrik Rollison, who was suspended for a violation of team rules Dec. 3, was not seen at practice.

Because of the weather, the Tigers split the team up to practice in the John H. Watson Fieldhouse. The three quarterbacks taking reps were Chris Todd, Neil Caudle and Barrett Trotter. Freshman Clint Moseley was there for a few minutes before finishing his portion of the indoor practice.

We get to talk to Gene Chizik later today. Perhaps he'll clarify Rollison's situation.

Some other quick hitters:
  • RB Mario Fannin was wearing an orange non-contact jersey. Fannin took a hard hit in Auburn's finale against Alabama.
  • A number of players took a few snaps in the Wildcat, including Onterio McCalebb, who hasn't taken a snap from the formation this season. Ben Tate and Kodi Burns, two players who have, also worked as the Wildcat quarterback.
  • Didn't see Eltoro Freeman in the indoor facility, although an Auburn spokesman said the linebacker did practice today.
  • Injured defensive backs Zac Etheridge and Aairon Savage were on the sidelines watching.
