Friday links (11/13)

Can you feel the excitement of the weekend yet? You can't? Well, read these college football links to get you ready:
  • Tailgating might be an issue after some of Georgia's grass-covered parking lots had to be shut down because of excessive rain, writes David Hale of the Macon Telegraph in this notebook.
  • Fellow beat writer Evan Woodbery of the Mobile Press-Register has a couple of excerpts from his book, "100 Things Auburn Fans Should Know & Do Before They Die," which makes a great stocking stuffer and can easily be purchased by clicking here. Here are the two excerpts that are up:
  • Jerry Hinnen of the War Eagle Reader swaps questions with Georgia fan and Hey Jenny Slater blogger Doug Gillett. Here's what they produced.
  • It's the Coach 'O' bowl in Oxford, Miss., this week, writes Low. That's in reference to Ed Orgeron returning to the school that he made relevant again through his recruiting, although he couldn't coach a lick and got canned.
  • Michael Williams has been filling in for an injured Colin Peek at tight end for Alabama, but Peek is getting better, writes Michael Casagrande of the Decatur Daily.
  • More on the arrested players at Tennessee. The Knoxville News Sentinel has video of the guys who were allegedly stuck up by the three Volunteer football players. It's really a must watch video, if only for this line of what one of the victims told the guy with the pellet gun: "We got nuthin' but a cheeeeese-burgers. He di'in't take that, though." Oh yeah, one of the guys thinks the three players should still be able to play.
