AuburnUndercover, AuburnSports.com and Inside the Auburn Tigers reported the news first.
Gaulden, who is unranked by both Rivals and Scout, chose the Tigers over offers from eight other schools, including Wake Forest, Duke and Wisconsin.
Gaulden attended Auburn's final camp of the summer last week. He's relatively new to football, having only played last year, according to Scout.com.
He is Auburn's third recruit in the secondary for next year but its first cornerback. Anthony Swain of Gadsden City, Ala., and Izauea Lanier of East Mississippi Community College are both expected to be safeties.
Here's an updated commitment list for 2011. Star ratings are from Rivals:
- Angelo Blackson, DL, 6-5, 289, 3-star, Bear, Del. (Red Lion Christian Academy)
- Sammie Coates, WR, 6-3, 170, 2-star, Leroy, Ala. (Leroy High)

He kind of came out of nowhere, or is it just me?
It's not just you. I liked it better when the recruits were coveted.
Andy, does this mean AU has given up on Chris Jones?
Somebody, somewhere in the media (memory fails at the moment) said that Auburn and Chris Jones have come to an amicable parting of the ways. Something about his family not wanting him at Auburn. Shame, because Jones himself wanted to come to Auburn and our coaches certainly wanted Jones.
That's two that caved in to pressure to go "anywhere but Auburn".
It's taking those people a long time to get over six beatdowns in a row.
Trust me, Shon Coleman came out of nowhere also. When Chizik first offered he was a 3 star, ended up being a 5 star, shaking schools off left and right. Kenneth Carter rose also. I trust the coaches to know what they need.
