AUBURN, Ala. — Gene Chizik reviewed his quarterback options after Auburn’s ugly 31-10 loss at LSU and came to a decision.Read the whole thing here. And follow the blog on Twitter.
He’s sticking with Chris Todd.
“We still think Chris gives us the best chance to win,” Chizik said Sunday.
Todd had his third straight rough outing Saturday in Baton Rouge, completing 8 of 14 passes for 47 yards against an LSU defense that was the best Auburn has played this year. He had one interception, one lost fumble and no touchdowns.
It was Auburn’s lowest passing total in a game since a 2006 loss to Georgia, when Brandon Cox managed only 35 yards in a 37-15 loss.
“We’re going against much better competition than earlier in the year,” Chizik said. “And we’re to that point where we’ve got to execute better. Chris had a lot of pressure on him last night.”
Todd, who won the starting job in August, has seen his numbers drop off considerably the last few games. He threw for 1,230 yards and 12 touchdowns in the first five games but is only 33-for-66 for 260 yards in the last three games, all losses for a reeling Auburn (5-3, 2-3 SEC).
