Baseball: Auburn's magic number to clinch spot in SEC tournament down to two

Here's today's advance for the Auburn-Tennessee baseball series at Plainsman Park this weekend. What's at stake? Oh, quite a bit ...
  • Auburn can clinch its first SEC tournament berth since 2003 with two wins, two Alabama losses or one win and an Alabama loss.
  • The Tigers are one game back of SEC West-leading Arkansas with six conference games to play. They haven't won a division title since 1995.
  • Auburn has an RPI of 17, so it's not out of the question that with a strong finish, it could be one of the 16 host sites for the NCAA Regionals. Is it likely? No. But it could happen.
The Tigers are currently tied for fourth in the overall SEC standings. Here's a look:
  • 1t. Florida 17-7
  • 1t. South Carolina 17-7
  • 3. Arkansas 16-8
  • 4t. Auburn 15-9
  • 4t. Ole Miss 15-9
  • 6. Vanderbilt 12-10
  • 7. LSU 12-12
  • 8. Tennessee 11-13
  • 9. Alabama 10-14
  • 10. Kentucky 9-15
  • 11. Mississippi State 5-19
  • 12. Georgia 3-19
