Shaw guard Chris Denson signed with Auburn yesterday, becoming the third player new coach Tony Barbee has added in the last month.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Denson averaged 24 points a game for Shaw as a senior and scored 1,049 career points.
The Columbus product is also a point guard, a position where Auburn is in short supply. Walk-on Josh Wallace is the only returning point guard on the roster, although Frankie Sullivan dabbled in handling the ball last year. (Junior college transfer Anthony Salter was released from his Auburn scholarship and signed with Hawaii.)
Location, Denson told Ledger-Enquirer preps reporter Chris White, was a major part of his decision. He also wasn't put off by signing with a new coach.
"I know it’s a new start,” Denson said. “He’s a new coach, and everybody has to start fresh, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Wow. I like Auburn a lot but that's a pretty nice come up right there. I'd love to go to Hawaii to play ball on scholarship.
