Baseball: Mummey named SEC Player of the Week

For the fourth time this year, an Auburn baseball player earned SEC Player of the Week honors after Trent Mummey earned the distinction Monday.

Mummey batted .500 with three home runs, six RBIs and six runs scored last week, helping Auburn to a 3-1 record, including a 2-1 series victory at No. 7 Arkansas.

Since returning from an ankle injury that forced him to miss the first 28 games of the season, Mummey is batting .388 with nine home runs and 25 RBIs in 17 games. The Tigers are 12-5 in those games.

Auburn (30-15, 12-9 SEC) moved back into the polls after last weekend, coming in a No. 24 in the latest Collegiate Baseball poll.
