Cory Luckie threw a complete game, five-hitter in No. 23 Auburn's 12-2 win at No. 18 Vanderbilt on Saturday. The victory pulled the Tigers (24-12, 8-6 SEC) even in the series, with the rubber game tomorrow.
Luckie (4-2) was moved up in the rotation following Friday's loss. He retired 11 of 12 at one point and finished the game by retiring 13 of 14 batters. It was Auburn's first complete game since May 10, 2008.
Brian Fletcher provided the offense, hitting his 11th and 12th home runs of the year and driving in four runs. Justin Fradejas and Trent Mummey both had two hits and drove in two runs. Mummey hit his fourth home run.
Jack Armstrong (5-1) was handed his first loss this season for Vanderbilt after giving up eight runs (five earaned) in 2 1/3 innings. He gave up seven hits and walked three.
The Commodores fell to 28-9 overall and 7-7 in the SEC.
The team finish the series today at 2 p.m. ET. Grant Dayton (4-1, 5.18 ERA) takes the mound for Auburn against Vanderbilt's Taylor Hill (3-3, 3.51).
