The 6-foot-3, 272-pound Dismukes is the third touted offensive line recruit to commit to the Tigers for next year, joining Spencer Region of Cullman, Ala., and Thomas O'Reilly of Marietta, Ga.
Auburn will start four senior offensive linemen this year but faces an overhaul of the group next offseason. Center and three-year starter Ryan Pugh is one player who will need to be replaced.
"I'll have to go and work and do my thing," Dimsukes said during his announcement, which was streamed live on the Internet by one of my colleagues. "It's not just going to be handed to me, but I'll definitely have an opportunity to play."
Dismukes, who is Auburn's fifth commitment for 2011, is listed as a four-star recruit and the No. 3 overall center nationally by Scout.com. He is an Under Armour All-American and a member of the ESPNU 150 Watch List.
Dismukes was once close to committing to Alabama but changed his mind. He also had offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss and Stanford.
He said he made his decision two weeks ago when he visited Auburn, even though he waited until Wednesday to make his announcement.
"When you go there, you don't see a different picture every time you go," Dismukes said of Auburn. "You get the same picture every time you go. Everyone's family."
He is on pace to graduate in December and enroll in college next January, according to Rivals.
