Tigers look to rebound against Kentucky

I wrote a story previewing today's game. Here's how it starts:

AUBURN, Ala. — The defense stunk. The offense sputtered for a half. And the special teams couldn’t tackle.

Nothing went right for Auburn in a 44-23 loss at Arkansas last week, the first rough patch on what has been a smooth ride for coach Gene Chizik in his first season on the Plains.

But he’s been careful not to overreact. After all, his Tigers are still 5-1 at the midway point of the season, far better than almost everyone had predicted.

“This is not Chicken Little; the sky is not falling,” Chizik said. “The bottom line is, we didn’t play well. We need to focus and recapture the things that got us to 5-0. It’s not doom-and-gloom, but let’s troubleshoot and figure out why we got beat. And that’s for every guy, every coach, including me and starting with me.”
