I wrote a story for today's newspaper about defensive end
Antonio Coleman, his lack of production the last two games and how serious he is about correcting the situation. Here's how it starts:
AUBURN, Ala. — Finding a player on Auburn’s roster with a greater disdain for losing than Antonio Coleman would be a difficult task, so naturally something didn’t sit well with the senior defensive end after a 44-23 loss to Arkansas last week.
Certainly not when the defense was a primary culprit in the blowout, allowing 495 yards, and certainly not when Coleman himself was nearly invisible for a second straight game.
It bothered him so much, he plans to have a sitdown with head coach Gene Chizik to discuss the state of the defense and his role.
“It’s frustrating,” Coleman said. “I’m a fifth-year senior and I came back to have fun and to help this team win. ... There’s a lot of things going through my head.”
