- Auburn's fast-paced offense will be something new for Alabama's defense to deal with, writes Don Kausler Jr. of the Birmingham News. Seems like this gets written at least once a week.
- Alabama linebackers coach James Willis returns to Auburn wearing enemy colors, writes Gentry Estes of the Mobile Press-Register.
- Alabama has had to alter its practice schedule with the Iron Bowl being on Friday, writes Michael Casagrande of the Decatur Daily.
- Kevin Scarbinsky is shocked there's no Nick Saban-to-Notre Dame talk.
- After Auburn bottomed out against Alabama last year, Gene Chizik has done a nice job rebuilding the program so far, writes ESPN.com blogger Chris Low.
- Georgia's Reshad Jones will get a chance at redemption, writes David Hale of the Macon Telegraph.
- LSU's Les Miles is the Turkey of the Year, writes Paul Finebaum.
- Miles is not hot in Low's SEC Hot/Not list. Kentucky's Rich Brooks is En Fuego.
- Urban Meyer says he's not going to Notre Dame. To be fair, what else can he say at this point?
- He also became the latest to tear up when talking about Tim Tebow (OK, it was the seniors, but he's chief among them).
- Things are not right in South Bend: Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen was apparently punched by an irate fan outside of a bar.
- Running backs still rule Sports Illustarted writer Gene Menez's Heisman list, although a quarterback is making a move.
- This still from the Texas Tech-Oklahoma game is pretty funny.

Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated wrote in his power ranking column on Tuesday that "If Auburn shocks Alabama on Friday, expect CBS to get some of the blame. Alabama officials didn't learn until April that the game would be moved to Friday."
Since when is 7 months not enough time to prepare for a game?
Maybe Alabama would have scheduled a cupcake opponent the week before to help rest them up for the Iron Bowl had it known. Oh wait ...
