WR Trovon Reed commits to Auburn

A week after getting a commitment from five-star running back Michael Dyer, Auburn got another from Thibodaux, La., four-star receiver Trovon Reed.

Auburn's three major recruiting Web sites -- AuburnSports.com, Inside the Auburn Tigers and AuburnUndercover.com -- all reported the news first.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Reed made his intentions known at a press conference this morning. He chose Auburn over Oregon and LSU.

Rivals ranks him as the No. 5 receiver and the No. 37 overall recruit in the country. Scout has him as the No. 11 receiver.

Reed has 913 yards of offense and nine touchdowns this season, despite missing five games because of a knee injury. He accounted for 1,784 yards and 21 touchdowns as a junior, playing a variety of positions.

He is Auburn's 21st commitment for 2010 and its fourth receiver. The Tigers already had commitments from Jeremy Richardson (Springville, Ala.), Antonio Goodwin (Atlanta, Ga.) and Shaun Kitchens (College Park, Ga.).

Auburn now has the top recruit from three states, according to Rivals' rankings: Reed from Louisiana, Dyer from Arkansas and offensive lineman Shon Coleman from Mississippi.

Tubs recruited this well once: when he got all of the players for the undefeated season.

Then, on the seventh day (2005), he rested. Leaving the team with some of the depth and talent problems it has had the past 3 years.
