Rise and shine: Auburn spring football practices will start early in the morning

Enough of the basketball already. Who's ready for some spring football?

Auburn is, and the Tigers, who start spring drills Wednesday, will be early risers the next four weeks. Fourteen of Auburn's 15 practices will be in the morning, a major departure from last season, when the Tigers practiced exclusively at night. The only practice in the afternoon this spring is A-Day on April 17, which starts at 2 p.m. ET.

Here's the full schedule for Gene Chizik's crew this spring (all times ET):
  • Wed., March 24, 10 a.m.
  • Fri., March 26, 10 a.m.
  • Sat., March 27, 11 a.m.
  • Mon., March 29, 10 a.m.
  • Wed., March 31, 10 a.m.
  • Fri., April 2, 10 a.m.
  • Sat., April 3, 11 a.m.
  • Mon., April 5, 10 a.m.
  • Wed., April 7, 10 a.m.
  • Sat., April 10, 11 a.m.
  • Mon., April 12, 10 a.m.
  • Wed., April 14, 10 a.m.
  • Fri., April 16, 11 a.m.
  • Sat., April 17, 2 p.m. A-Day, Jordan-Hare Stadium
  • Mon., April 19, 10 a.m.
Sorry to all the fans out there, but practices are closed to the public (except for A-Day, of course). Don't feel too bad. We media types only get to see parts of four of them and it's mostly just stretching.
