Washington deals former Auburn QB Jason Campbell to Oakland

The Washington Redskins traded former Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell to the Oakland Raiders, according to multiple reports.

The 28-year-old Campbell, who started 52 games the last four years for Washington, became expendable after the Redskins acquired Donovan McNabb from Philadelphia recently.

Oakland gave up a fourth round pick in 2012 for Campbell. Reports have already surfaced that Campbell has agreed to a new deal with the Raiders that will pay him $3.24 million this year and $4.5 million in 2011.

Campbell enters a favorable situation in Oakland, where former top overall pick JaMarcus Russell has been deemed a bust. The other quarterbacks on the roster are Charlie Frye and Bruce Gradkowski.

Campbell led Auburn to a perfect season in 2004 before being taken by the Redskins with the 25th overall pick in the first round of 2005.

Oakland selected Auburn cornerback Walt McFadden in the fifth round earlier Saturday. The Raiders also acquired former Auburn defensive end Quentin Groves from Jacksonville earlier this week.
