Darvin Adams led the SEC in touchdown receptions, was third in receiving yards and third in catches. Wow, you would think that equals at least the top five in receivers in the SEC. If that's not first or second team I don't know what is. Does the AP only look at big names? Maybe the coaches will realize what a fantastic year the kid had. He came from nowhere to have better stats than AJ Greene, Brandon LaFell, and Julio Jones. Looks like Coleman made the right decision coming back. WDE
I think what hurt Darvin was the fact that eight of his 10 touchdown receptions this year came against non-conference opponents. You look at his SEC-only stats and they're really not as impressive. He had only two 100-yard receiving games in league play. That's tough to ignore.
Ha,ha that's a good one. I forgot the press doesn't consider what the other WRs did against non-SEC competition. Joe Adams only had three TDs and LaFell only had four TDs in the SEC. Cooper had over 300 yards and 3 TDs against non-SEC opponents.
Joe Adams was 26th in catches in the SEC. Not only that but Darvin also shared the field with TZach who had five TDs and was 2nd in the SEC in yards/catch.
Andy, you do a great job so I'm not talking about you, but it sounds like the media might have gotten that one wrong. Can I get an honorable mention or sum for Adams. War Eagle lol
I agree with you that Darvin got screwed. I was just trying to come up with a possible explanation. You're right. It probably has to do with how he really wasn't on anybody's radar before the season.
Might be a good thing that Darvin in under the radar. Doesn't much matter now anyway. Next year he could really break out.
How young is this Auburn team? Wow, yeah we lose a couple here and there, but the majority of our team is coming back. I'm already excited about this bowl game and next year! War Eagle!
Tebow over Mallett? yeah right.
Andy's right, with only 2 TDs vs. SEC competition he gets left out. But the kid at Arkansas, Joe Adams? Are you kidding me?
