AUBURN, Ala. — A steely-eyed Auburn group waltzed into Arkansas’ Bud Walton Arena last year and emerged 73-51 victors, handing the Razorbacks the worst loss in the 16-year history of their home arena.
The Tigers know that means nothing when they head back to Fayetteville for a game this afternoon at 1:47 ET.
“Last year was last year,” Auburn coach Jeff Lebo said. “Last year’s game has not come up with this year’s team nor will it. It really has no bearing on this year’s group.”
It might be a new year, but Auburn (11-11, 2-5 SEC) finds itself in a similar standing. The Tigers have the same conference record as they had at this point last season, when they reeled off wins in eight of their final nine SEC games to save Lebo’s job.
