The wait is over for the Auburn baseball team. Altamonte Springs, Fla., shortstop Nick Franklin, who committed to play for the Tigers, has signed a contract with the Seattle Mariners for $1.28 million, according to Jim Callis at Baseball America.

Franklin's bonus is slightly higher than the commissioner office's slotting guideline of $1,161,000. He was the 27th overall pick in the first round.
