Auburn releases 2011 football schedule

Auburn officially released its 2011 football schedule, which features seven games at home and five on the road.

The Tigers begin their defense of the national championship at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Sept. 3 against Utah State.

They start conference play the following week at home against Mississippi State on Sept. 10.

Auburn's other non-conference games are at Clemson (Sept. 17) and at home against Florida Atlantic (Sept. 24) and Samford for homecoming (Nov. 19).

The Tigers' SEC slate features a new opponent, Florida (Oct. 15), which rotates onto the schedule for Kentucky. Auburn hasn't played the Gators since 2007.

It also hosts Ole Miss (Oct. 29) and Alabama (Nov. 26) in the Iron Bowl, which is back on a Saturday after two years on Friday.

The Tigers' conference road schedule includes South Carolina (Oct. 1), Arkansas (Oct. 8), LSU (Oct. 22) and Georgia (Nov. 12).

not as bad as I was led to believe it would be. there is no murder's row of games. tough games, no doubt, but that is every year.

Auburn fans will never boo Pat Sullivan. Never.

I like the change which made the open date before UGA and homecoming (Samford)between UGA and UAT. That moves the off week to two weeks earlier and still gives us a breather between the two big rivals.
