I wrote an article for today's paper about Auburn's defense. Here's how it starts:
Naturally, defensive coordinator Ted Roof found a middle ground.AUBURN, Ala. — There are two ways to look at Auburn’s defensive performance in Saturday night’s 41-30 victory against West Virginia.
From a negative perspective, the Tigers gave up 509 yards, couldn’t stop the Mountaineers on third down and missed far too many tackles.
On a positive note, they forced six West Virginia turnovers, got constant pressure on quarterback Jarrett Brown and scored a touchdown that sealed the win.
“I rate it good enough to win,” he said. “But in order for us to continue to win, that’s not our goal.”
