We're back with some midday musings ... err, afternoon articles ... err, noon nuggets ... ahh, forget it. We're sticking with lunchtime links. It's not copyrighted. Enjoy:
- Ball State's Stan Parrish's team might be 0-3, but the first-year coach said he's seeing improvement from his Cardinals, writes Doug Zaleski of the Muncie Star Press. On the sidebar, there's also a note that free safety Sean Baker broke his hand at Army and will miss Saturday's game.
- Hey, what have we here? A LIVE chat about Auburn football on Thursday at 1 p.m. ET/noon CT? Well, if I were you, I'd show up with any question you might have about what the Tigers have done this year and what the might still do.
- Boy, Paul Finebaum really dislikes him some Urban Meyer. I don't think Florida's lost a step at all, by the way. Check back in at the end of the year, when the Gators are still in the SEC championship game.
- ESPN.com's Chris Low says the SEC is still the best defensive conference in the country. Alabama is third nationally, Tennessee fifth, Florida 11th, South Carolina 15th, Vanderbilt 21st and Kentucky 28th. I don't know, though. There are a lot of offensive minds who are starting to make some headway.
- Jerry Hinnen of The War Eagle Reader gives us his weekly Schedule Stockwatch. There are a lot of teams whose stock is going down or holding steady. Things might be opening up just right for Auburn this season.
- Oregon coach Chip Kelly is a stand-up guy. He actually wrote a check for $439 to a fan who wanted a refund for traveling to watch the Ducks stink up the joint, then punch up the joint at Boise State. I'd hate to be Al Groh's checkbook right now.
