You're looking LIVE at the slowing filling end zone seats of Jordan-Hare Stadium, a little less than two hours before kickoff. We'll be blogging updates as things happen before the game, so check back periodically. First, a few facts that you should know heading into the game:
- Auburn is 15-1 in its last 16 SEC openers.
- Auburn has won 20 of the last 27 meetings with Mississippi State, holding the Bulldogs to 19 or fewer points in 10 straight games.
- Auburn is 16-3 in night home games since 2000.
- Gene Chizik has won 16 straight games as a member of Auburn's staff, dating back to his time as defensive coordinator in 2004.
- Auburn has won 50 consecutive games when scoring 30 or more points. The team's last loss in that scenario? A 56-49 defeat to Georgia back in 1996.
- LB Eltoro Freeman led a group of linebackers into the stadium, looking very pumped to be on the field. They're in their warmup clothes, so that's not necessarily an indication that he'll play. But he wasn't even out there last week, so that's a good sign for Auburn.
- Auburn players are trickling onto the field. Unlike last week, Kodi Burns is doing drills with the receivers. Also, freshman QB Clint Moseley is in uniform.
- Demond Washington is wearing No. 14 today instead of No. 32. He's been working on punt return drills with a host of players during warmups. Must be because Eric Smith, who also wears No. 32, is back.
- Freeman (hamstring) is in uniform.
- Smith, as promised, is also in uniform.
- Check that, D'Antoine Hood (Central-Phenix City) IS NOT in uniform.
- DE Nosa Eguae is still wearing a walking boot on his right foot. He will obviously not play.
- Also do not see DE Antoine Carter in uniform.
- Adam Herring is working with the first-team linebackers during warmups. Not Freeman.
- DL Zach Clayton is back in uniform after missing last week with an unspecified injury. That should provide some depth at both tackle and end for Auburn.
- It was just announced that Herring will start at WLB. I assume Freeman will still get plenty of playing time.
