Adams emerges as go-to wide receiver for Auburn

I wrote a story about wide receiver Darvin Adams for today's newspaper. Here's how it starts:

AUBURN, Ala. — During the offseason, Darvin Adams slipped through the media cracks, a forgotten story in an Auburn receiving corps full of them.

The spring headlines belonged to Tim Hawthorne’s potential and Terrell Zachery’s maturation, the summer and two-a-days to Montez Billings’ academic situation, Philip Pierre-Louis’ absence, Kodi Burns’ position switch and the arrival of highly-touted freshmen DeAngelo Benton and Emory Blake.

At least from the public’s perspective, Adams worked his way into a starring role quietly and anonymously. But his teammates knew better.

“We knew it in the spring that he was the real deal,” tight end Tommy Trott said.

Wow. Cool stat. Haven't seen that anywhere else.
