Tristan Davis earned the SEC's special teams player of the week award after returning the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown against Tennessee-Martin last week in Auburn's 37-20 win. Plus, he did it on a bum hamstring that coaches said was about 80 percent.
Davis is the first Auburn player since 1970 to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in the same season and leads the SEC with a 30.9-yard average on 17 returns.
Also had to correct something from today's story about the Auburn-Georgia rivalry. AUBURN leads the all-time series 53-50-8. I had that information incorrect in my story. Thanks to the 12 or so people who pointed that out.
