Tuesday football update

Nothing major coming out of Tuesday's round of interviews, but there were some minor nuggets to update:
  • I'm doing a running game story for tomorrow, so I don't want to spoil it too much, but LT Lee Ziemba had this to say about the offensive line: "We're not tough enough right now. Running the football, we're not where we were last year. I know we had a little setback and we keep striving for that. It ain't the want-to, we want to, we just got to get it done. We've just got to stop talking about it and just do it."
  • LG Tyronne Green on switching offensive approaches midseason: "Yeah, it's been pretty tough, because for the spread offense, we were always emphasizing the tempo of the offense. It wasn't really man-on-man blocking. It was more zone blocking. ... It just takes a little time to get back to it."
  • Tuberville sounded surprised when he told us CB Neiko Thorpe (high ankle) practiced today. He wasn't sure about the game, but the fact that the freshman is out there three weeks after suffering a high-ankle sprain is encouraging.
  • DT Sen'Derrick Marks (ankles), NG Tez Doolittle (groin), DE Antonio Coleman (ankle), CB Jerraud Powers (hamstring) and WR Rod Smith (hip pointer) did not practice today.
  • Talked to handful of players who sounded like they paid quite a bit of attention to this year's election, though they were finding it hard to get to a polling place Tuesday. QB Kodi Burns was bummed he didn't fill out an absentee ballot on time. I can relate. After moving from Virginia, I didn't register to vote in Alabama on time so I'll be an onlooker today as well.
