Auburn head coach Gene Chizik is up for the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year Award today, but he won a regional honor Monday afternoon.Chizik was named American Football Coaches Association Region 2 Coach of the Year.
Chizik led the Tigers to a 13-0 record this year and a berth in the BCS title game. He is 21-5 in two years with Auburn.
The AFCA recognizes five regional coaches of the year in each division. The winners will be recognized at the 2010 AFCA Convention in Dallas on Jan. 11, when the AFCA Coach of the Year will be announced.
