He received the award at a luncheon in Little Rock, Ark., this afternoon.
Malzahn's Tigers are seventh nationally in total yards (497.7 ypg), sixth in rushing (287.2 ypg) and sixth in scoring (42.7 ypg).
Malzahn is Auburn's second winner of the award. Current head coach Gene Chizik won the award in 2004 as the Tigers' defensive coordinator.

They're coming fast and furious now. Hope you've already had your shower.
Wow, this is amazing how much Auburn is being recognized today.
Looks like if we are going to keep Malzahn Auburn is going to have to cut to the chase and start speaking seven figures... A worthy investment if you ask me.
No amount of money will keep him around if he wants to be a head coach, that's just how it is. And we should wish him all the success in the world, he's certainly deserving. But I don't think it's going to happen this year. I think he'll get a decent raise and stick around at least 1 more year, maybe 2-3.
I agree that Coach Malzahn is probably not going anywhere this year. If at some point in the future Arky, Ole' Miss or LSU comes calling he may leave but I don't see him wanting a job like Miami or Vandy.
Well deserved award and congrats Coach Gus!
Yeah, but I don't see his stock getting any higher than it is right now. If I were his agent, I'd be wheelin and dealin.
Gus is a genius. Plain and simple. It's gonna be a shame when he leaves.
