More All-America honors for Auburn's Newton, Fairley, Ziemba, Pugh

Quarterback Cam Newton and defensive tackle Nick Fairley were named to a pair of All-America teams Tuesday, being voted to the Sports Illustarted and Associated Press teams.

Left tackle Lee Ziemba, meanwhile, made the SI first team and the AP second team.

Center Ryan Pugh was an SI honorable mention and a third-team AP selection.

Here are the All-America honors Auburn's players have earned this year:
  • Newton: AFCA (1st), Scout (1st), Walter Camp (1st), CBSSports (1st), Sports Illustrated (1st), AP (1st)
  • Fairley: Scout (1st), Walter Camp (1st), CBSSports (1st), FWAA (1st), Sports Illustrated (1st), AP (1st)
  • Ziemba: AFCA (1st), Scout (2nd), Walter Camp (1st) CBSSports (2nd), FWAA (1st), Sports Illustrated (1st), AP (2nd)
  • Pugh: Sports Illustrated (HM), AP (3rd)

The first team IS Andy Bitter. He's so far ahead there is no second team, just some honorable mentions.

andy,when is auburn scheduled to begin practicing?i read somewhere that oregon has been on the field a week already...makes me a little nervous!they seem to be very serious .dont get me wrong,i bleed orange but i would love to see us putting in our plan early!
