Cam Newton to do Top 10 list on Letterman tonight; no definitive Gus Malzahn news yet

Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Cam Newton's busy week in New York continues tonight. The Auburn quarterback will do the Top 10 list on "The Late Show with David Letterman." Set your DVRs. The show starts at 10:35 p.m. CT.

No word yet on if he'll attempt to throw footballs through a moving taxi cab's open window.

Newton appeared on CBS's "The NFL Today" yesterday and made an appearance on "Good Morning America" this morning.

Other Letterman guests tonight include comedian Ricky Gervais, actress Hailee Steinfeld and musical guest Diddy-Dirty Money.

Meanwhile, we still have no definitive answer in the Gus Malzahn will-he-stay-or-will-he-go soap opera. The Washington Post's report that Malzahn is expected to be named Vanderbilt's head coach still stands (although the print headline could use some work).

AuburnSports.com, meanwhile, put a story up that said sources close to Malzahn say the coach plans to turn down the job offer. It also cites an Auburn source as saying the Tigers could up Malzahn's salary to $1.3 million a year.

Not surprisingly, Malzahn is not responding to phone messages right now.

Will he throw them through the driver's open window? And will Mike Bianchi be driving? I'd like to see that.
