Ryan Pugh was named one of six finalists for the Rimington Trophy, which is given to the nation's best center. The winner will be announced Thursday during the ESPN College Football Awards show in Orlando, Fla.Pugh, a senior, has started 40 consecutive games. He helped Auburn's rushing offense lead the SEC in points (42.7 ppg), total offense (497.7 ypg) and rushing offense (287.2 ypg).
The other finalists are Colin Baxter of Arizona, Chase Beeler of Stanford, Mike Brewster of Ohio State, Jake Kirkpatrick of TCU and David Molk of Michigan.
The winner is selected by determining the consensus All-American center pick from four existing All-America teams. The committee uses the following All-American teams: American Football Coaches Association; Walter Camp Foundation; Sporting News; Football Writers Association of America.

Hope Pugh wins it, he has been a rock for us for four years now.
I remember Dave Rimington when he came with Nebraska to play Auburn back in '81 or '82.
What a MAN Rimington was! How many O-linemen have you ever seen that stuck in people's memory 28 years later?
Center has to be the toughest position in football. You've got your hand on the ball, you know you're going to get your head smashed in, you have to survey the defensive alignment, maybe call out some adjustment to your line, listen to the snap count, make the snap, and make your blocking assigment. That's too many things.
Pugh was responsible for the 2 in the 3-2 MSU game in 2008, haha. What a long way he's come. Hope he wins, he's definitely done a great job this season.
